Civil Law Expert

Job description:

Azran Lawyers, located in the heart of Old Montreal, is looking for an Expert in Civil Law to join its legal team.
This role is intended for a legal professional with solid expertise in civil law and capable of handling complex matters.
As an expert in civil law, you will play a key role in defending our clients’ rights, proposing legal solutions adapted to each situation and representing them in court.
This position requires great rigour, an ability to manage complex files, and excellent communication with clients.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Analysis of the files: Analyze complex civil cases, reviewing evidence and assessing legal implications.
  You’ll need to develop solid legal strategies to maximize your clients’ chances of success.
• Legal representation: Represent clients before civil courts in complex litigation matters, including contract disputes, tort claims, and real estate disputes.
• Legal advice: Provide informed legal advice to clients on various aspects of civil law, clearly explaining the legal implications and proposing tailored solutions.
• Settlement Negotiation: Negotiate out-of-court settlements to resolve civil disputes, while ensuring that your clients’ interests are protected.
• Drafting of legal documents: Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  You will need to ensure that all documents comply with legal standards and court requirements.
• Case Management: Ensure the complete management of client files, ensuring that all documents are properly organized, updated, and ready for hearings or negotiations.
• Communication with customers: Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their files and answering their questions with clarity and professionalism.

Requirements:

• Experiment: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil law is required.
• Language skills: Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
• Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex legal situations and propose innovative solutions to resolve civil disputes.
• Personal qualities: Rigor, sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure.
  You must also have excellent negotiating skills and an ability to collaborate with other team members.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
